Two Ladies & Their TVs

We love our shows so much we created a blog for it.

About the Ladies

athenawj is a writer-mama-artist-editor-blue ribbon junkie who can't get enough of her favorite t.v. shows (and the ridiculous amount of videotapes in her house proves it). She's owned various t.v.s for awhile, but only recently discovered the joys of OnDemand.

merserene is a professional-turned-student who has an unhealthy addiction to some shows. She bought her first TV last year and is particularly fond of old reruns and British comedy.

SVU, Threshold, and The Office

Okay, I'm on Mr. Calm's computer, typing with his weird sticky keys (I feel like the writer in Misery) so I can finally post over here.

SVU preview: okay, merserene,  you know I only usually pay attention to Stabler, so he's all I remember from the season preview.  Here's the gist: Stabler screaming (I mean mouth wide open) at a perp; Stabler in the shower (!!), and Stabler handcuffed to a car door handle while Robert Patrick menacingly speaks to him.  That last one is from next week's premiere, when Stabler goes undercover as a sex offender to stop another.

I guess he gets found out, huh?

Also, I read in TV Guide that this season, Mary Stuart Masterson will be back, and Stabler will talk to her, work out his problems.  We're supposed to find out what's at the root of all his problems.

Whatever.  Also, Olivia will be the one having the meltdown, because of where she's at in her life.

Whatever.

Threshold: This is on CBS Friday nights, and out of all the supernatural shows this year, this one's getting the best reviews.  Carla Gugino, Brent Spiner, Peter Dinklage, and Charles S. Dutton are in it, and that's a top-notch cast.  They play a team of scientists who find out about first contact, and it's their job to HIDE it from the public.  Thing is, these aliens are mean, and they either kill people or make them crazy/evil.

I'm just thrilled that Brent Spiner's on t.v. again.

***

The Office: You know, if NBC wants this show to do well, they should at least buy it ad space in TV Guide.  But there isn't even an episode description of the season premiere!  However, it's about Dunder Mifflin's annual Dundies awards banquet, and it's being held at Chili's.  Sounds uncomfortable and hilarious.

They're also going to deal with sexual harassment, and one episode a fire will break out, and they'll spend the entire ep in the parking lot.

Dang. I feel so out of it without a TV! Obviously I haven't seen any of the SVU previews. Stabler in the shower, eh? :>

Threshold - I hadn't even heard about this one. Love Brent Spiner! Here goes the dilemma again - I can't afford to watch another show. Especially if it promises to be a scifi one. And I'm still attempting to resist The Office.

Gotta get myself a TV before the weekend's over. "Lost" is all I can think about.

Resistance is futile! ;)

I could care less about Lost-- weird, huh? I didn't watch any of the reruns this summer. Most likely I'll watch it again, but I'm just looking more forward to other stuff.
